1. Which style is right
for me?
It is very important to carefully chose the right style and
dojo (place where one learns martial arts) to begin your training.
You can generally get a feel for the place by walking in the door
and talking with the staff members. If they don't have the time to
talk with you, then move along to the next studio. A good studio
will also let you try out a few classes before you join to see if
you like the way that they teach the curriculum.
2. If I achieve rank in another style, do I get to keep it?
If you have been ranked and have proof, then we will evaluate
you on your material and place you accordingly in our system.
3. Will it cost me a lot to train?
The cost is very affordable and we offer half price reductions
for the second family member(s).
4. Will I have to sign a long term contract?
To put it very simply, NO. We want our students to have
flexibility because you don't know what kind of situation may pop
up. Ex. Family illness, job relocation to name a few. While on
this note, be very careful with studios that ask you to sign a
long term contract.
5. Am I too old to start training?
No one is too old. At Lotus Self Defense Studios, age is not an
issue, we focus on the individuals desire to learn. The nicest
think about Lotus Studios Kempo is that the system allows for
flexibility. If a particular person has a troubled arm or back
injury, we don't ignore it but rather, we will show you how to
strengthen these areas so overall body development will increase.
We've had people start at 5 years old and go up to 73 years old.
Everyone can benefit from martial arts training whether it's for
physical development, self awareness, focus, self-defense, or
stress relief. The rewards are numerous. So come on in and try a
class, The rewards will last a lifetime!!
